Seems like a reasonable gamble
So this month's issue of OXM has a preview of Lost Planet 2 which among other things lists 4 player coop in its features. It also has Vital Suits (mechs) which seat 3 people. This discrepancy was intentional according to the developers. Sorry Moricerevek, oops, I mean toe jam...
Anyway, this lead me into thinking about the original Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. It was an Capcom Xbox 360 game released in early 2007. It had okay reviews and if you check Metacritic (79% average) you find that it has many reviews in the 90s and 80s.
As you know, I like to dig up the sleeper games from yore and try them out.
This looks like a lot of fun...
Only if it involved real guns though.
What would really be cool is you can digitize people's faces Read more
The Return of the Red Ring Of Death
Okay, I enjoy sequels as much as the next person. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan... love it. Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back... excellent! Aliens... a fricken blast! Unfortunately most sequels suck.
Last spring I had the "pleasure" of experiencing the Red Ring of Death. Now I get to "enjoy" The Return of the Red Ring Of Death (hence forth referred to as TROTRROD or RROD2... RRODII if you prefer Roman numerals).
Did I say "enjoy"? Okay... let me clue you in... that's sarcasm. RRODII sucks. It sucks big and it sucks hard.
It is not the kind of sucking that you any of you would enjoy.

Kinda boring to watch but entertaining (just like the movie) Read more
BREAKING NEWS: Swag has a date tomorrow, needs advice, viagra.
Ok I don't need that last part, and in all honesty it's probably not even a date, but I can dream can't I?
Post advice here! Help a guy out who isn't old, broken down, and decrepit!
For obvious reasons I will not say where I am going, since I don't want any Aku 'interference' or 'help'.
Nor will I post a picture of her, but I can give hints. I was thinking of an Aku-script name for her, and I think I'll just go with Egyptian-girl.

OnLive: The Future of gaming?
Wow this seems impressive and could be the wave of the future.
An interesting coincidence...
A quick note on randomness
Just as my story on Game Informer brought out the first image I every posted on the site I discovered in the "way back machine" that our first gaming night posted on the site was GRAW2.
How my Life Sucks - Part Uh..lost count a long time ago.
Well this is just to let Revek know that he isn't the only one who's life sucks.
Well I am in Bridgehead (Albert & Bank) doing my normal Lunch time ritual.
And I notice this girl (in my books 7, or 4 beers or Aquafresh girl, the kind of girl you bring home to mom).
She has a grey laptop with a crApple logo on it.
And I am thinking I have never seen a gray crApple before, so I kind of focus on it and notice that it is covering a Dell logo (not much better than crApple). I have a smirk on my face thinking of an openner. Read more
Saints Row 2 - Tastes like chicken
I admit, I've been putting this off. Procrastinating. Evading. Generally finding any excuse not to write this review.
Because yes, I am addicted to Saints Row 2.
I admit it took a long time to get past the initial revulsion. It took a long time to get into this game. Mostly this is because, despite assurances from certain smug individuals that infest this site, I was blinded by the GTA IV feel of this game. Really, the environment is similar in many ways to GTA. The gameplay is not, and that's where this game excels. Read more
Wow
Microsoft is really getting innovative...
Ok granted it is PDP that is releasing this motion sensing Gametrak Freedom controller for the Xbox 360. But my hat is off them for thinking of something cool and new.

Watchmen Review
Fungster88 and I went to watch watchmen this past Sunday. And the following video should give you an Idea of what I thought of it. Also, it may shed some light as to why Swag and Revek liked it so much. Read more
NHL 3 on 3 Arcade Review
Ok, so I am way behind on several game reviews I have meant to do. This is partly because I am working my ass off trying to finish up everything I need to do here before I leave. Mostly, it's just because I am lazy and prefer playing games to writing about them.
That being said, some of those I have played recently deserve some press. The first of these is NHL 3 on 3 Arcade. I have to thank Aku for bringing this game to my attention. This came after a conversation I had with him regarding the lack of 'arcade feel' to the recent crop of hockey games. I have been enjoying them less and less because they are becoming more and more realistic. As Blackwalt can attest to, the NHL games of the mid 90's were the most fun. A bunch of guys (and gals) could get together, drink heavily and laugh themselves senseless playing those games. Guba sitting on the edge of the couch, screaming 'AAAALLLLL!!' as her Al MacInnis character crushes a hapless opponent into the boards comes to mind. Read more
WARNING! Latest NHL09 Update.
Greetings Folks,
The lastest update for NHL09 causes 'cache freezes' on the console.
You get the latest update you will need to 'clear the cache'
unfortunately this also clears the updates for all other games as well.
To clear the cache
Goto:
My Xbox
System Settings
Select Memory
Press Y for Devices
on the next screen make sure you have 'rename' highlighted
then press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X
I haven't found any kind of link describing this problem yet.
But the freezing stopped after I cleared the cache

Nintendo release System 4.0 for the Wii
The continuing story of Wii Homebrew
Finally, a significant improvement to the Wii OS: the ability to transfer all WiiWare DLC from the internal memory to a mounted SD card and support for SDHC up to 32GB. This had been the biggest weakness of the Wii - all the WiiWare had to be stored on the internal memory (512MB). Read more
