Rockstar providing Half a Million GTA$ Stimulus Package this Month

Given some of the recent technical issues during these first days of GTA Online, and now that things are starting to look much smoother (touch wood!), we are planning to provide a special stimulus package for all who have played or will play Grand Theft Auto Online this month. We will be dropping a cool half a million GTA$ in the GTA Online bank accounts of all players this month, starting as early as next week.

So Rockstar is giving $500 online cash to everyone who logs into Grand Theft Auto Online before October 31st. As opposed to just providing a cash apology to those (like myself) who were effected by the "recent technical issues," they are giving the cash apology to every one. So if you have GTA5 and have yet to try the Online portion you should do that soon. If you were thinking of getting GTA5 at some point this might be a good reason to do that soon. If you plan on ever trying it in the future it might be worth borrowing it from someone long enough to sign in and qualify for the stimulus package.

The amount is sufficient to set up your character with a quality apartment, garage and car.

Some of the players who lost characters, apartments and cars are apparently quite bitter that Rockstar is giving the money to everyone, not just those (like myself) who actually lost progress.

I am not bitter because of this, I was already bitter. Plus losing a Level 10 character with $30,000 in the bank isn't as severe as some of the other character losses. I hadn't even bought an apartment yet.

The full details are available on Rockstar's site.
