For once I would have to agree with you
Though for different reasons.
I don't think I will be investing in this generation mainly because of Game Pass.
All first party games will be available on PC and XBox.
I tried playing Destiny 2 with a controller and it was atrocious.
Luckily Destiny does have "cross save" so I was able to play it through Steam and my save also ports to the Xbox. So when (early 2021) Destiny is finally on the PC side of Game Pass I can continue where I left off.
Side note, I tested out the streaming from Xbox to PC hoping I can use the keyboard and mouse, though I could not use them, the feature actually worked really well.

Speaking of loading back to Destiny, On the Xbox it took 68 seconds to load an area on my PC it took 8
As for Sony, I only bought them in the past for their exclusives, but usually when they have price dropped considerably. I am unsure if I will invest in this generation currently
I had exactly the opposite experience. Tried playing GamePass games on my PC with a keyboard and mouse and had to plug in a controller. It was just simply impossible to aim or control movement. Too many years with a controller I guess.
