Future Shop suddenly closes all stores in Canada

By Coxxorz - Posted on 29 March 2015

Customers and employees arrived at Future Shops across the country Saturday morning to find they had all closed. Reportedly half of them will reopen in the coming weeks after being converted to Best Buy locations, but the rest will remain closed permanently.

Best Buy, who bought Future Shop in 2001, has apparently just noticed that many of its sister stores were located right next to each other.

A despondent Snuffy D could not be reached in time to stop him from cutting up his collection of Future Shop gift cards, which constituted much of his recent corporate buyout package. Best Buy has confirmed it will honour those cards in stores, while astute Coxxorz Dealz followers will note that they have always been accepted at both online stores.

Amazon shoppers are hardest hit by this news, many of whom will now have to travel extra minutes to test merchandise in Best Buy showrooms before ultimately purchasing elsewhere online.
