HoC Random Canada Post Issue of the Day - 04052015
Expedited? Standard? Expected?
Recently I ordered something on eBay. Yes a video game. When it listed as shipping I went and checked out the Canada Post tracking page.
- Expedited Parcel. Good
Delivery Standard - 2015-04-10. Good.
Expected Delivery - 2014-04-13. Bad (and what?).
Fine. I am totally okay with the possibility of the actual delivery date (a week Monday) being after the Standard Delivery Date (next Friday). What confuses me here is that both these dates are over a week away and Canada Post is clearly stating that they expect my package to arrive AFTER the standard delivery date. Why even put this out there? In writing? Where everyone can see it?
Now obviously the package could arrive before the expected date. I get that. But why have them both different? If they left the Standard Delivery Date off of the page I would not have noticed. Heck, if they had lied and said the Standard Delivery Date was the 13th I would have been fine. Not that I support the practice of lying, I have to admit the honesty was refreshing.
But still...
Even with two of the days being the weekend all I get out of this information is my package is expected to arrive three days later than the Standard Delivery Date. Perhaps it is time for Canada Post to revise its expected Delivery Dates? Or at least hide the results from their customers. The package just left (April 1st) and I am already angry at the courier.
I guess that sometimes less information is better.
