HoC experiences Dying Light: the first entry
So, apparently, as I was reminded, I owe you guys some information about Dying Light
I may have even promised more information. Fine, here we go:
At this point I am 12% through the story.
If you enjoyed Dead Island and liked Dead Rising you will really get into Dying Light. While it hasn't made me forget Far Cry 4 it is all I have been playing (and all I want to play) since I pulled it out of the shrink wrap.
It has all the enjoyable aspects of Dead Island while streamlining some of the more annoying parts. I find the inventory better arranged with crafting being much simpler and more organized. You can craft anywhere from your menus, you don't have to find a workbench. While searching and scavenging is still parts of the game it is not as pervasive as Dead Island. There is a lock picking mechanic that I am really impressed by.
The story is much stronger with your character being a generally good guy stuck between three factions trying to keep them all happy. The Parkour is a part of the game but not a dominating part. While you can travel across the rooftops I do a lot of travelling along the ground through the zombies. Maybe I am playing it wrong.
Lots of quests, lots of weapons (mostly melee same as Dead Island), lots of weapons upgrades, lots of safe houses available (you need to unlock each one you find), multiple character upgrade paths, gigantic map.
Dying Light supports four player coop and I would like to test it out with you guys as opposed to complete strangers. Feel free to wait for the first price drop. There is an option for you to join another player's game as a zombie. I have this option turned off as I expect anyone joining my game to act just like one of you guys.
Dying Light is worth buying if you have any interest in it and/or you really liked
