Games with Gold #2 June 2016: The Crew

I can't say enough about this game. If you have the slightest interest in driving games you should be trying this

Supports four-player co-op as you drive around a massive re-creation of the US. Drive through New York, Colorado, the Grand Canyon.

I have so much to say I don't know where to start! Some totally random thoughts after the original launch trailer!

Most of The Crew info available now is based on the expansion The Crew Wild Run but the base game is still massive, fun, and supported. The last game I remember seeing this much support after launch was Burnout Paradise. The Crew has seen just as many major patches but has the addition of daily, weekly, and monthly challenges. Similar to Test Drive Unlimited 2.

In The Crew you have a 4 player crew that you race with but you are always aware of other online drivers as they are in your game.

As well as challenges there are faction missions, mission mission, driving challenges, collectibles, a full campaign, and more. Each region has 10 car pieces hidden around it. The map is opened up by finding radar stations (the whole map is visible and you can drive anywhere but the events and challenges are unlocked by accessing the radars). Once you have travelled somewhere you can fast travel there. Not specific spots, anywhere.

All types of terrain are offered as you travel across the US. All types of cars and driving is offered. Off-road, city, tracks, beach. You really can drive anywhere you can see.

Even Rolly loves it. He hates the races and challenges but he loves to grab an offroader and drive around looking for car pieces.

Cars are available readily. You have to collect in game funds to purchase them but I always found them obtainable.

There is a season pass and a major DLC, Wild Run, neither of which I own. But I probably could be talked into it.
