I enjoyed reading about the different fiascos. The gun pictured here is a LeMat Revolver. It's a revolver wrapped around a shotgun. A revolver wrapped around a shotgun!

There are a few things that stand out when you go through the list above. Brilliant ideas aren't enough, you also have to fill a need of some kind. Trying to hang too many functions on one weapon system is rarely going to work. And the French seem to have a habit of coming up with gimmicky pistol designs that suck.
