You are hereWe could have been contenders!
We could have been contenders!
Except that it was us
So last night we were playing zombie swamp in Call of Duty World at War. Stormblade, Graybush and I. And it was going well.
No really.
Graybush and Stormblade hit a record for their survival - 17. Previously Coxxorz and I had reached one level higher (18) but it was playing with two complete strangers that knew what they were doing and carried us.
The three us us had reached three buildings, juggernauted, speed reloaded, died, revived and even ziplined! Well, technically, only Graybush and I ziplined. We kind of left Stormblade behind and forced him to work his way back to us through a horde of zombies. Boy, that guy can bitch about anything.
We had killed hordes of zombies and were killing more. Until...
...well, it kind of fell apart.
The Tickle Trunk had moved yet again and for the first time in a long time we headed out to the storage hut. Three paths to the hut, three HoC. What do you think happened? Yes, each person took a different path. With zombies appearing everywhere, it was not the perfect choice. Not even a remotely acceptable choice.
Stormblade went down first. REVIVE. I, stupidly, turned back. Shooting everything and tossing grenades (this is foreshadowing). Graybush went down next, REVIVE, after getting caught in a fence post while trying to come back for Stormblade. We were doomed. Except for one last gift that Greybush had given me. INSTA-KILL. I could easily clear the path of zombies and Stormblade (now with a red REVIVE) could cover me while I revived him. Then we could go get Graybush .
Another great HoC plan. In theory.
Reality, however... so I mowed down zombies left and right as I ran back to Stormblade clearing the path perfectly until I ran into a grenade indicator. Where did that come fr... BOOM!
GAME OVER
You Survived 17 rounds
Okay, so hopefully no one noticed what just happened.
Just then Stormblade piped in, "did I just see..."
Crap, someone noticed.
