Yes those two pieces are supposed to be attached. It was full at the time they parted company. Of coffee. Hot Coffee! The fact that I was holding it at the time also made it more exciting.
It was ugly and all over my kitchen floor. Technically it wasn't completely full as I had already poured Guba her morning coffee. After one look at my face she carefully handed it back to me.
"Here you take this one, I'll pick some up at work."
She then backed away slowly, never taking her eyes off me until she cleared the front door.
There is no plus side to this morning but on a less miserable side the replacement coffee maker (the one I wanted) was 50% off at Canadian Tire.

Every new thing I buy has to have wifi now.
It's the BEST.
With an iPhone dock.
Unless it can brew a pot within 10 seconds of entering its range.
