Family LAN day a Success
It was essentially a Father and Son LAN but it was still a success
This past Tuesday, August 5th, we hosted a family LAN in our basement. Technically Rolly hosted it and Guba and I just got to do all the work.
The idea came randomly. Stormblade Jr. was in the middle of his annual summer visit and we (and the Graybush clan) had just been visiting him in Arundel. Coming out of this was the idea to get the adult HoC Members and the kid HoC members together for the same LAN party. Playing the same game. But what games could we all play and all enjoy?
After hours and hours of intensive testing we came up with Burnout Paradise and Motocross Madness. Burnout Paradise everyone is familiar with and Motocross Madness happened to be this month's free Games with Gold.
Rolly's enthusiasm for the idea was best described by his own comment the next morning, "It was awesome!"
The event was attended by Rolly & Blackwalt; Prof3ssor M & Stormblade; and DarthLordLogan, DethCon5 & Graybush (who brought BattleAxe72 with them). Four adults (technically) and four kids.
While all the adults were expecting to weather the Xbox 360 LAN it was a first event for several of our younger attendees. We were all happy to see everyone participate fully and with great enjoyment.
Taking down and being taken down in Burnout Paradise seemed fairly split and when RollyC felt he was losing more than he was winning he took it upon himself to divide everyone into two teams of four. Complete with notes on every one's monitor to show them the teams. Take downs became (mostly) divided among the teams and kept everything fun for everyone. Until we realized it was 10:00 PM and rapidly shut things down. Kicking Stormblade to the curb and politely helping Graybush to his car.
All attendees received their own plush Gargle Dragon courtesy of our resident shopping agent Coxxorz (as they were shoved out the door).

Which Prof3ssorM has turned into the Pink Gladius of Fear and Dread!
Has a place of honour on the gaming shelf.
But why is there a Smurf on display?
My zombie hunting smurf ...
Especially in Call of Duty!
Also note that some of those are Blue-Finned Purple Gargle-Dragons.
As per canon.
