You are hereDilbert has jumped the shark.
Dilbert has jumped the shark.
Yes, I am going for a record tonite...
So, the Dilbert.com site has officially jumped the shark; they have switched to a Flash-based display system, so all the RSS clients cannot display the comic inline. Add that to the fact that going to the sites brings not one, but TWO goddamn advertising popups, plus the other advertising crap that is all over the page, and you get the most reader-threatening comics page out there.
Screw you Dilbert.com; I'm not reading you anymore.

And it only takes 20 seconds to read it anyway.
You're not linking to it either.
visit the site directly, instead of just whorring the stripped down rss feed.
Is to use a browser that can properly block popups. Like IE7. I don't get any popups, and I just ignore the other adds.
My browser does have popup blocks.
Is that you want to decide what the artist is to do with his material and his site, and how he should present it to you.
And it's my right to stop reading his comics if his site goes WAAAAY beyond what is acceptable in the world of Internet advertising.
Remember when Coxxorz put Google Ads everywhere on this site. (Or was it me?) If we had left those on the site for more than 24 hours, we pretty much would have lost any readers.
People are typically OK with ads, but when you actually have to search for the real content on a page, people generally do not come back.
I have been to the Dilbert site many times since the udate and at no time did I have to look for the cartoon. It was the first thing I have seen. In fact, I cannot remember any of the ads that were posted on the site, so they cannot be that obtrusive.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a strange compulsion to go buy 5 Dell laptops.
You read Dilbert!
That that was obvious from my responses.
