Super Secret Zombie LAN declassified
Only now can we disclose the truth
Q-Bert really wasn't invited.
The official attendees (pictured above) were Stormblade, Coxxorz, Blackwalt and Graybush. Officially the CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion was also invited but I shipped off his invite late so he may not have received it in time. We'll never know now.
All Official attendees received a Zombie Army hat and a replica Welrod pistol (made from Dollar Store parts!).
Despite Q-Bert not being invited his presence was felt.
When Graybush texted that he was running late he received a somewhat sarcastic response: "Who is this? Everyone is here. Q-Bert has been here for an hour."
Even better, when Graybush eventually arrived he came bearing six Tim Horton's coffees.
"There are only five of us here?"
"The last one is for Q-Bert."
There are only four coffees in the picture as some of us could not wait for their fix.
What else occurred?
- Oddly Stormblade brought all the chocolate snacks while Blackwalt provided all the sugar-free snacks
- Coxxorz finally brought his Turtle Beach Modern Warfare 3 headset to a LAN party and had to cut them open as they had never been used before.
- Coxxorz's tactical snack pack was larger than any of the Xbox bags he was carrying
- Graybush and Stormblade shared the loveseat for the entire night and I spent varying moments being jealous of both of them
- Zombie Army Trilogy was awesome
- Even if we couldn't get past the first bosses of the game. Which we eventually skipped.
- We played a significant portion of the first campaign and then skipped ahead to the newer third campaign which was definitely a step up from the first two campaigns. As expected mind you.
- No one was disappointed by Zombie Army Trilogy. It was everything we expected and a blast to play.
- Particularly with friendly fire on. "Oops, that was an accident." "So was that." "And that." "Maybe not that one."
Good LAN setup, good LAN group, good LAN game.
The Herd of Cats Super Secret Zombie LAN was a huge success even without Q-Bert there. Don't worry Q-Bert, next time a 4 player co-op game is released we won't invite you either.
To be fair to Q-Bert there were a lot of other HoC clan members who weren't invited either. A four player cutoff is a four player cutoff.
