Is it time to stem the Vermin?
I don't mean you guys, I mean a possible co-op/LAN day for Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide
Arriving on consoles October 4th (at $39.99) we need to determine if it is time for a co-op/LAN party.
Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Fatshark. The game is set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. It was released for Microsoft Windows on October 23, 2015 and set to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in late 2016.
The game is multiplayer-only, and its structure is similar to Valve's Left 4 Dead series. Set in the End Times, players can team up with three other players to fight against the Skaven, a race of rodent-like monstrous creatures, in the city of Ubersreik. At the end of each match, the players are given the opportunity to roll dice, which determine the weapons they will receive.
I really didn't need to hear anything past "...similar to Valve's Left 4 Dead series."
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide has been out on PC since October 2015. The PC version reviews well with 78% from Gamerankings and a 79% from Metacritic.
I am ignoring the Warhammer portion and paying more attention to the four player coop in the vein of Left 4 Dead. Except rats of all sizes instead of zombies of all sizes.
The game offers five different heroes to choose from: Witch Hunter, Bright Wizard, Dwarf Ranger, Waywatcher, and Empire Soldier. Each offers different upgrades as you play as well as different weapons that you unlock and/or find. Only four heroes at a time even though five different heroes are offered.
The enemies... well how else do I say this. The enemies are rats:
But since we are cats I am thinking that this may work out.
So with slightly less that a month to go I figure we should look into:
- who should host
- who will be attending
- if we can find anyone from, say, Ft. McMurray, to be a suitable virtual backup if required
- I don't expect any Cozzorz Deals as it is a new release
- maybe a possible date. The same date for everyone.
So let's make some decisions and share the results. In November, like usual.

I'm in.
So we will need to decide in advance who is going to be Og and who is going to be Bear.
It would be bad trying to figure this out on the fly...
It's been so long for those two that one probably has muscular atrophy and the other dementia.
