The indecision of Stormblade

Amazon shipping box: Not as secure as you might think (but not open)Amazon shipping box: Not as secure as you might think (but not open)So I received a Amazon shipping box today. Addressed to me but with no sender info. Now earlier this week Stormblade had mentioned to me that I was getting a package from him and made me promise "not to open it!" (until my birthday which is sometime soon) So, yes, I promised to be good(ish).

But with no sender information how was I to know that this box was from him? Sure the odds were good but it could be from some random stranger. It could be!

I will admit that it is most likely from Stormblade and as such I will stick to my promise (for now). Fortunately for my weak will, however, this box had substantial openings at either end and while I had promised not to open the box, no one said anything about peeking into the box. What a convenient loophole. And as an added bonus I could also fit my hands into the box and nobody said anything about feeling around inside the box!

I am sure that next year my box agreement will be six pages long and notarized - but that's for next year.

I'm innocent I tell you.

Do any of you seriously think that I would have looked in the box? Or reached inside the box with both hands and felt around?

... All of you? Really?

Anyway, it seems Stormblade wanted to cover all the bases as the box seemed to contain three items:

  1. a paper back
  2. a DVD case
  3. some kind of flat book, probably a comic book graphic novel.
(I note a distinct lack of lego!)

Now, knowing the relationship between Stormblade and I, I figure that there are pretty good odds that I can guess what each of these would be.

  1. a paper back - 100% chance I know what book
  2. a DVD case - (originally 90% as I thought it was an Xbox game (The History Channel presents Civil War: A Nation Divided Review) but discovered (somehow) that the case was black not green which lowered the odds) 70% chance
  3. some kind of flat book, probably a comic book graphic novel - (this is tough - 30% chance on the exact book) 75% chance on which major DC character

But until I open the box there will remain some (small) mystery as to how Stormblade has covered his bases. Thanks big guy.
Note: I originally ended the story with my guesses (Garrett, etc.) but removed them as it read too churlish even for me.

There was supposed to be a 4th item ...

And it should have been ticking ...
