I got booted out day before yesterday and couldn't get back on for the rest of the night... yesterday there were a number of games with pretty bad lag - maybe it's not "kids with walmart internet connections" after all...

... but how do I tell/ask Micro$oft to update my Xbox Live ? I've connected many times since the upgrade announcement, and nothing has happened.
That they have disabled the update until they get the issues resolved.
There is no patch to download.
They updated the servers and infrastructure.
If you can get on to Live you are running the most recent version.
They are very totalitarian that way. Accept any update or never get on live again.
I was under the impression that the client or interface on the X-Box itself was getting an update.
but that is down the road a bit. This last update was an infrastructure update to prepare for the new 'look & feel' update. As you can tell (or you could if you played anything involving other clan members) the infrastructure update was not a resounding success.
Say it ain't so... but it seems to have knocked out 1337pwn.com and their Xbox Live friends online status servers for a good part of yesterday and today.
