Burnout Paradise: a looooonnnnng time between achievements
Mostly just posting something because of the lack of content
Yeah, the site is pretty dead but it is mostly because you guys suck. Anyway, more about Burnout Paradise. If you've been on live recently you may have noticed we are revisiting Paradise City. Mostly due to upcoming DLC but also related a couple of site stories here and here.
What's remarkable to me is the pickup of three more achievements.
Now I had a single aberration back in June 2008 where I picked up a measly 10g but almost all of my previous Burnout Paradise achievements were collected in January and February 2008. Exactly a year ago. That's unusual in any Xbox 360 game and shows the staying power of Burnout Paradise and the efforts that Criterion has gone to in keeping Burnout Paradise current and fun.
So seven months between achievements. A year (close enough) between multiple achievements.
Last Saturday after most of the HoC members playing quit out Coxxorz and I stayed in to see what we were missing in Billboards(1), Superjumps(3) and Smashes(3). Yes, I was missing a single bill board. One.
So using the Burnout Paradise online interactive map Coxxorz and I went searching Palm Bay Heights for my one missing Billboard. Fortunately, Burnout Paradise separates the 80 Billboards across five regions otherwise we would have been there all night. Or longer.
So I clicked on the first Billboard of twenty. That's pretty far away. How far away is the last map. Clicked on the last map. Hey, that's right around the corner. I can be there in thirty seconds so I drove there and started looking around for it.
"Hey, Coxxorz, I found my missing Billboard."
I'd post his response but after I removed all the expletives there wasn't much left.
They were pretty long odds and I had played them.
Coxxorz ended up happy though as he didn't have that Billboard either. After a couple of minutes figuring out how to get up there.... Achievement Unlocked: 20g Bustin'Out. And I also unlocked a new car, the Montgomery Carbon Hawker.
One last Billboard, one year later. That's the staying power of Burnout Paradise.

this game is pretty good. I look foward to the new DLC!
Since I am short on time, and haven't played the game that much, I'll give it a quick:
Not 5 stars because of Rogers and Gillet adverts.
Thanks again for picking it up for me Blackwalt.
