The Secrets behind "Far... far... far... far... far... away..."
Okay, more truthful, the way "Far... far... far... far... far... away..." occurred
You all know that Rolly likes Lego, Star Wars, and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. A couple of weekends ago Guba gave him a new set of Crayola markers, glowing markers that only write on special coloured paper. Rolly decided that I would be the one drawing and he decided I would be drawing Star Wars Characters.
We sat at the dining room table with the markers and paper and he told me which Star Wars character he wanted and what colour to make them. Sometimes he helped, for example, he added extra hair to the Chewbacca drawing.
I chose to draw the characters in Lego form as it was substantially easier and clear to Rolly what they were.
Afterward, I scanned, cropped out the individual characters and placed them together to create the HoC Star Wars Character graphic.
Here are the original masterpieces:
And here is the Lego Star Wars promotional wallpaper that the graphic is loosely based on:
Available in Xbox 360 faceplate form:
Download a HoC Star Wars Character faceplate here: SWChar_Faceplate.pdf. You do need a Nyko Gameface to be able to use this.
And now the full and accurate character list with their HoC counterparts:
- From left to right:
- Han Solo – Blackwalt
- Chewbacca – Stormblade
- Princess Leia – Guba
- Luke Skywalker – Graybush (it was the hair)
- Obi Wan Kenobi – Hardwood (random but he next to Graybush)
- Anakin Skywalker – Akufadumamai (a great source of evil)
- Ashoka – Moricerevek (who else was going to be the young female character)
- C-3P0 – Coxxorz
- R2-D2 – Q-Bert
In retrospect, the choice to use the original Star Wars font was a bad one as once it was shrunk no one could read some of the lettering. Too late after the fact. My first run through of the characters was substantial different and when I switched over to the present form I left out Coxxorz. Fixed it shortly after the initial publication.
It did, however, get a much bigger and more positive reaction than I had expected.
