June: what's upcoming in June
Anything you're interested in?
With a $69.99 price point is seems we must study our gaming purchases closer than ever.
Here is the official Clan take on upcoming June releases. A quick look at VGReleases show us the following games releasing this June.
If you disagree with anything here then you should have written the column first. Sucks to be you.
- Ghostbusters : The Video Game – High production values, original cast, original writers!, reviews well. BUT: Multiplayer only co-op and only three scenarios. Campaign is all single player. Absolutely if you're a huge Ghostbusters. HoC take: wait for a price drop and further reviews.
- Fuel – Totally open racing world. Mediocre reviews. When you feel what they were trying for it's beautiful. Otherwise. Floaty controls, poor textures. HoC take: Coxxorz very interested. Sounds like waiting for Fuel 2 may be the best bet for more casual racers. Or a massive price drop.
- Overlord II – Must buy for Stormblade and Blackwalt. The rest of you do what you want. Dark humour, minions, professional writer, problems in the first game fixed, minions! HoC take: I'm buying but I said that already.
- APB – Are you on Crack(down)? There is no way this is making a June release date. HoC take: Coxxorz and Blackwalt are crying as this would have been a must buy. Massively multiplayer Crackdown? Hello!
- Red Faction: Guerrilla – This is a sleeper possibility. It's Volition which is good and its reviewing well. HoC take: Wait and see.
- Prototype – A dark horse. And a dark game. Open world controlling an evil mutant. Lots of destruction could be fun. Single player only. HoC take: Wait and see.
- DLC: Saints Row 2, Corporate Warfare – three new scenarios and new stuff. Mustaches!! Wee!HoC take: Pass. Last DLC disappointing and overpriced.
- DLC: Call of Duty World at War, Map Pack 2 – Imperial Zombies! HoC take: Buy. Buy. Buy.
- XBLA: Battlefield 1943 – Three greatest hits maps from Battlefield 1942. Loved it on the PC, available at XBLA pricing levels. HoC take: Hmmm.... waiting on reviews. Will follow the Clan on this one.
- Stuff I missed – Sorry if I skipped your foo, foo, girly wrestling games, fighters and movie tie ins. HoC take: MoriceRevek will buy what he wants anyway. Why wait for a price drop?
HoC disclaimer: haven't played any of these. Working with known clan preferences, previews and reviews.

although the new Batman game was supposed to come out this month (moved to August), and that might be interesting.
It might even put a smile on my face!
If you ever really bought a game.
Or I can just borrow them from Q-bert, since he doesn't actually use his 360.
Actually, I borrow all my games from Revek...
Wow. I'll take APB for obvious reasons, then Red Faction and BF43 for being known good games. I'll take a demo of Fuel to go.
Pass on the SR2 DLC. You get one strike with game addons, in my book.
DLC: Call of Duty World at War, Map Pack 2 – Imperial Zombies! HoC take: Buy. Buy. Buy.
Third from last.
I stopped reading at "World at War, Map Pack 2".
Have any of you actually played any of the maps from the last paid download?
Were there other maps in that DLC?
And why would we care?
ZOMBIES!!!!
Enough said. Although I should add that they look vaguely like Revek and Q-Bert, which makes Overlord II that much more enticing.
Imperial zombies! Enough said.
Probably will pick up BF 1943, the DLC for SR2 (just because) and APB if everyone else does.
The others will have to wait for eBay.
But both Left4Dead2 and Assassin's Creed 2 should finish off whatever is left of my current relationship around Christmas time?
'Waddayamean I was supposed to buy you presents???"
