The Official Herd of Cats 2nd Anniversary / Site Redesign / Save-the-Mascot / Just Because... Contest
At the risk of running contrary to our clan motto (something about randomness I'm told), there are just so many reasons to have a contest right now. Not least of which, the grand prize is AWESOME.
And here it is: one shiny new copy of Batman: Arkham Asylum for Xbox 360. And no, not Blackwalt's used copy, which I'm sure will be available any day now at the rate he's been playing. This is the real deal. And it was a real deal too. So not only will you get an excellent game, but a story and a half about how you came to own it. (Hint: you can use it to pick up chicks!)
Want to know how to enter? Easy: Just send us your original Disney/Marvel Mashups. And it doesn't have to be an elaborate Photochop job, either (although the judges do like pretty pictures). Your entry can be a piece of creative writing (e.g.: Top Ten Previously Rejected New Character Ideas that Will Now Become A Feature Movie), or an interactive game, or just something you doodled at work. It can be a biting editorial commentary on the Disney commercial juggernaught, or just Pooh's head on Hulk's body. Entries will be judged on originality. So enter often!
Here's a sample to get your creative juices flowing:
Coming Soon: Marvel/Disney comic crossovers
PRIZE: One new copy of Batman Arkham Asylum for 360 (slightly chewed)
ELIGIBILITY: Breathing, Human (no Zombies please)
DEADLINE: Random
UPDATE: Heck, let's open this up to everybody. If you're not a HoC member, feel free to email us (see address at bottom of page, unless Q-Bert broke the site again).
UPDATE 2: Contest is now closed. Stop sending in entries already!

It really does pay to be part of the Herd! Seriously this is pretty cool.
Aren't we going to have a LAN soon? It's been a while.....
Stupid Noir, you had to pay for your version...
It was a tough decision, but in the end, there could only be one winner. Congratulations to SWAG and his Poolossal entry. You are the new owner of a shiny new copy of Batman Arkham Asylum. Good job! You can pick it up at the HoC Clubhouse as soon as Half-Pint is done with it.
And an honourable mention to both the other valid entries. A solid effort!
We're already planning our next Official HoC contest, to be announced as soon as Future Shop makes another serious screw-up on their website. Any day now...
I'm really happy for you and I'm going to let you finish, but Stormblade's Tinkerbell submission was one of the best of all time!
- Kanye West
If that concludes the last-second entries, the judges will now deliberate and a winner will be announced in just a moment...
...
You've had 3 freaking weeks!
So who won?
Probably blackwalt
I think it will be SnuffyD.
Just because.

Last minute entry from Graybush.
Too many gamma rays in my honeypot!
Solely to keep Hardwood from winning.
Especially the shadow effect ...
Had to brush up on some old photoshop skillz!
In case anyone is wondering, I made everything from scratch (except of course Pooh himself and the sky background). Using photosource form Colossus himself was too difficult.
That's more involved than I ever would have attempted. Nice work!
I am here to WIN!
This may not be totally original but I like the placement better and it's more subtle. Disney isn't going to change the characters overnight, it will be a slow creeping takeover...

Now I see.
Took me a while....
Whiners
And way more effort than Blackwalt's adding of Mickey ears to everything.
Created with GIMP by the way. Viva la open source!
Is there a caption or clever name to go with it?
It's Eyeore. His home blew up ...
again.
Clever? Does not compute.
Where's your attempt?
Gotta figure out which end of the crayon goes on the paper.
You mean he didn't purposely pick a superhero that's not from the Marvel universe?
So I don't know where my superheroes come from. So shoot me.
You're the one who offered up the Batman game, so no wonder I am confused.
You got me there. Surprised nobody's mentioned it until now.
Here is my first entry
Cause I really need a second copy of Batman for my second xbox.
you have far more free time than any of the rest of us.
So not only will you get an excellent game, but a story and a half about how you came to own it. (Hint: you can use it to pick up chicks!)
Unless of course you are me. And add some funny tidbits to the story
