Shouldn't Facebook get a bit of the "put down" action ?
Well, at his reading level, I figured ...Well, at his reading level, I figured ...

Now because of this post you have Aku asking me for a friend's request.

Now what am I going to do? Next thing you know my credit card will get maxed out.

It will be your loss in the end.

I just haven't accepted yet. I'll have to think about it.

For a guy who was dead set against Facebook for many years, you have certainly taken to it like a fly does to... well, you know.

Worst of all, one of my strongest arguments for never using Facebook was that my friend the Internet security expert insisted it was every single security flaw on the Internet all bottled up in one package.

I still believe this and I still refuse to use it, but Q-Bert is a sell-out ...

You are going to have to dig into your archives to find a quote of me saying that.

If I said something about Facebook being a paradise for hackers to steal private information, then yeah, I said that multiple times.

Still do.

Isn't being able to hack to steal private information a fairly major security flaw?

They were only recently required by law (in Canada) to stop sharing personal information with "partners" without your knowledge. Security flaws by policy means Facebook = Security Flaw.

Facebook engineered this privacy violation, and it is still in effect, even with the so-called "privacy enhancements" they said they put in for us Canucks.

If you wish to know all that a user has put in his Facebook account, just write one of those fscking quiz everybody plays each chance they have, and pay facebook to deploy it. That app comes with an automatic information aggragator, as a Facebook service. The joke though is that you can inject code in that quiz that will copy you all the info that quiz had access to.

So I am careful about what I put about myself in my Facebook account. But yeah, even being careful, and limiting all my info to my friends only, I am still taking some risk.

Eyes open.
