The last of the borrowed time
2-4 weeks
Today's visit to the vet will be the next to last. The cancer has eaten away at his gum line and jaw/mandible bone has been exposed. The last few months have been a matter of maintaining a quality of life for Half-pint along with pallative care.
I haven't been updating the site on Half-pint's status as this stuff is hard to write.
He has taken a strong shine to Rolly in the last month or so (and Rolly to he) which, while good, will make things that much harder.
Half-pint has been on cortisone for the past month and again for the next few weeks. This does wonders at covering up the symptoms and improving his quality of life. Strangely Borderlands has become less important.
We will see how much it is possible to spoil a cat in the next two weeks and schedule a final appointment sometime during the third. Barring any emergency.

It sucks.
We lost Milo for 2 weeks last year in the winter. We were lucky enough to have him found and returned to us. He was near death when we got him back though and it was a tough time for sure.
Keep your chin up.
I am continually amazed that he has survived all manner of injuries, only to be hit with cancer, of all things. He's like Bruce Willis in that movie where he was indestructible except for one weakness. And I always thought Half-Pint would eat himself to death.
That cats are expendable and replaceable, but it doesn't hold true with Half-Pint. Not only is he our clan and site mascot, he is quite an exceptional animal and not really a typical cat.
I will truly miss him and my love is with you, Guba and Rolly. If there is anything I can do to help leading up to the end, let me know.
