I am aware of the event module. There is no equivalent in Drupal 6. I am still hunting.
And no, I couldn't even go in to "Edit" a previous even to copy the object code.
As for uploading images, try: Create Content -> Image.

I've just added a Flash Node module, try that for your usual Wednesday post.
We removed it. Can you not use Image Assist instead to insert the image ?

I've never used the Upload button in that dialog. I've always done it the proper way.
Multiple steps, multiple links and multiple menus is very much your corporate way.
If you want to get something done however, doing it all from the same window/menu seems more effective.

It event includes a "Signup" tab now! The Event creator can mark the event as Signup and people will be able to indicate if they will participate.
That will make a big difference.
Please note the dripping sarcasm.
