How to open...
A bottle of wine without an opener....
As you all may obviously know I am some what of a wine connoisseur, and I have a professional two tier opener (could not find a good pic of one). Anyway, a lot of you common wine drinkers seem to have those crappy what I call twisty arm openers. Which makes opening a bottle almost as ridiculous as this:
Though I may try this next year at the wine and food show....

To see them do that with a bottle of champagne.
And you're surprised nobody but connoisseurs have them?
I use one of these.
They are relatively easy to get.
You just can't get them at places that you would be able to buy that Homer opener
Why would anyone drink spoiled grape juice with so much good beer in the world. My brother considers himself a wine connoisseur and has tried for years to have me drink his good wines. I finally had to tell him that he should stop, since he was wasting good money on someone who would never appreciate it.
The world is full of quality beer. It's much cheaper and doesn't taste like someone left fruit rotting in the sun.
It's also easier to open.
Though I do enjoy beer as well.
hmmm Lug Tread and brewed locally too!
They were at the Wine and Food show. Tried some of their new brews they really have something good going on there.
Other Favorites:
Devil's Pale Ale
Kronenbourg 1664
Just to name a few.
I'm with Wine Boy on this one.
But if you really like beer, you owe it to yourself to try one from the inventors of Pilsener. Here's one that's been brewed since the 1800's.
I have had Pilsner in Pilsen. And some 1000-2000 other kinds of beer in various places. I am truly a beer snob.
My favourite is a good IPA, but they are very hard to find in Canada. I am far more frequently disappointed than not. Believe it or not, Colorado had some of the best beer I have ever had.
And no, it wasn't made by Coors.
But it works well enough.
I got one of these for my parents, and they seem to like it.
Care to share your secret source for this device, or would that break the Wine Snob Code?
You don't use one of these ridiculous things:

Someone who shall remain nameless, actually had the audacity to give me this as a house warming gift.
That same year I was tempted to re-gift it at xmas.
Also found one like the one I own here:

Took a picture of my own.
You can purchase one at:
Ma Cuisine
Domus
CA Paradis (though expensive here but this store is so worth visiting)
Musca Grapes
They shouldn't cost more that ~$12 unless of course you go to CA Paradis and they will probably charge you $20+
At one point in time I was considering buying a whole bunch and giving them to people as xmas gifts. But I didn't, and thankfully that was a good decision.
