- The October NPD results are in and Borderlands has enjoyed the best selling launch week in 2009 among all new video game IP. In spite of launching towards the end of the month and competing against the first full month of sales of the latest Halo sequel, Borderlands dominated the Xbox 360 for October taking the #1 best seller position for the platform.

I also commend Gearbox for their choice of art style, going with a semi-realistic cell shaded look instead of the hyper-realistic look of most modern shooters.
What we hope other game publishers will learn from this: We want unique, original games.
What other game publishers will actually interpret from this: Make more games with black outlines!
