I Love my Family

As most of you know, for the last 5 months or so, I had a roommate / tenant staying at my house while his own house was being built. This person was an old friend of mine from Montreal. What I did not know about him at the time that I decided to let him stay, was that he is a VERY loud snorer. He was in the guest room, with the door closed, I was in my room , with the door closed, and I could still hear him very clearly. And it was not the steady kind of droning, it was the varying intensity / wall shaking feel it in the very core of your body vibration kind of snoring.

Well, the day finally came where he has taken possession of his house. He has moved out, and last night was the first night in a long time where when I went to bed, I did not have to listen to the snoring.

One of the things that I did to help me during those long months was take up meditation. I set up a little corner in my walk-in closet and meditated before going to bed for 30 - 45 minutes every day.

Tonight my parents called me to give me news of the family in Montreal, and chat for a bit. And of course, the conversation drifted over to the fact that my friend has moved out.

Mama Revek: So how did it feel to be able to go to sleep last night?

Revek: It was great. It was very quiet.

Mama Revek: Hey Revek, I guess that means that you can come out of the closet now.

Revek: .....

Revek: Ahhh mother? Never utter that sentance again. Please.

Nephew: This is soooo going on the site.

Revek: Crap. Better do it myself then.

*sigh*
