You are hereWhoops. Nevermind…
Whoops. Nevermind…
So, this was going to be about Lost Planet 2 except…
So over the past few months I have been reading previews and write ups on Lost Planet 2. Most of these previews had the HoC Magic words: 4 player coop. I use the term coop loosely. But that's the type of game we like to play. See Borderlands.
Now the first Lost Planet was worth the price I paid for it but I wouldn't have appreciated paying full price.
Lost Planet 2 has a new play style described as Gears of War-ish, with full 4 player coop, battling massive bosses and mini-bosses, sometimes from the inside. Apparently it's not unusual for the giant monsters to eat your character.
So I was putting together a writeup suggesting that we look at Lost Planet 2 as our next coop game. And this was all good until I went looking for its release date.
According to EBgames that will be May 18th, 2010. So a few months off but not too bad and gives us time to think about it.
Except…
I noticed something else while at the EBgames website.
Oh yeah baby, Crackdown 2! Sequel to one of my favourite Xbox 360 games ever. Now supporting 4 player coop through out the entire campaign. How much did we like Crackdown 1 ?
- 1250 of 1250 achievement points
- Finished the entire campaign cooperatively (with Coxxorz)
- total days played - 71
- fifth in my most played list (Behind Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: WaW, Rainbow Six Vegas and Saints Row 2.
- one of the best achievements ever – Body Armor: Use the Harpoon gun to attach 5 gang member corpses to a single vehicle
Release date? June 1, 2010. So I would have played Lost Planet 2 for a grand total of two weeks before tossing it aside.
Lost Planet 2? Gone. Thanks but never mind. I'm going back to Pacific City
See you there, I hear it's nice in June.
And for your viewing pleasure:
Note: The Lost Planet 2 release date is firm. The Crackdown 2 release date? Not so much.

And didn't like it at all. I think it would be wise to pass on that one.
Gene Simon's voice I detected?
That shit has to stop... NOW.
I'm reserving judgement on Crackdown 2 until a proper trailer appears. But it sure as hell is further up the list than Constantly-Find-Molten-Goo-Or-You'll-Die Planet.
