I don't get it, so I share it

Okay so it's a cover of the Vapors classic "Turning Japanese". It's starring Kirsten Dunst cosplaying as some kind of Sailor Moon, it's filmed in Japan, directed by McG and produced by Takashi Murakami.

Nowhere does it explain why they did this.

Please note that this is site related as "Turning Japanese" was used twice in two different Console Exchange comic strips. I would link you to them but Q-Bert killed all the comic nodes and I can't even edit them to re-import the comics. I'll add them here. Maybe they got funnier with age.
