New Xbox "Slim" consoles already failing

So it looks like earlier speculation was correct: the dreaded Red Ring of Death is gone, only to be replaced with a different failure indicator.

Instead of the blinking RROD, users are reporting that the console now pops up a message on screen indicating that it's about to shut down to protect itself from "insufficient ventilation". Very clever move there, Microsoft, shifting the blame for poor hardware design onto your users. Maybe BP could blame their oil spill on the American people, claiming "insufficient consumption".

The error and other screen anomalies are being reported by Sankaku Complex (WARNING: NSFW Anime content). Hackers are suggesting the cause is likely Microsoft's failure to make any substantial changes (same warning) to the CPU/GPU attachments to the motherboard that have allegedly been the cause of Red Rings in the past.
