Man charged in debit card scam after hotel staff find $100,000 in cash

By Coxxorz - Posted on 20 July 2010

The Ottawa Citizen reports that a 21-year old Quebec man has been charged in connection with a debit-card skimming scam in Saskatchewan that netted nearly $100,000 in cash.

Police were called to a hotel after staff discovered the cash while cleaning one of the rooms:

"Saskatoon police received numerous complaints from bank account holders after their debit cards were compromised on Saturday and Sunday. Investigators believe roughly 600 debit cards could have been compromised."

The staff of the hotel are to be commended for helping to apprehend the criminal, but it's still not clear WHY THEY WERE GOING THROUGH HIS SHIT.
