I know Swag will pretty much agree with the above picture, so I would like to know his thoughts on this article.

Few cutscenes, immersive environment. The best recent FPS. Period.

Sure, it applies to a lot of FPS, but not all.

Fallout 3 is a great example. It's 99% cut-scene free. You play through the cut-scenes instead so there is no loss of interactivity. Unlike the mostly passive, event triggered, single player campaign of MW2.

As for the article. Yes, I agree that making a level in Doom compared to today was a lot easier because of both technology and realism that games strive for today.

Hopefully someone can go and make an old school (albeit completely new) FPS. Much like Capcom did with Mega Man 9 and 10 (which were completely new games, but looked like they came out in the early 90s).
