Call of the Dead Easter Egg discovered
And HoC reached a new high
So yesterday finally saw the Herd of Cats' Alpha Team of Zombie Killers together in Call of the Dead for the first time: Stormblade, Graybush and Blackwalt. Not to demean the previous and future support of Coxxorz, SeanMCR and Wartactix but really... we all know who the (HoC) Alpha Team of Zombie Killers is. The rest of you want-a-bes can continue to try out for that elusive fourth spot.
We managed to get to Round 12. It does not sound like a huge triumph but keep in mind our previous high was Level 9 and our average is down around Level 6.
Anyway during our Round 12 triumph we found a heavy steel door inside the light house. A door that could not be opened. And there were voices behind it! People stuck behind the door asking for help. Four people in fact. One Russian (who asked for vodka), one American, one German and one Japanese.
Yes, the four heroes of previous Zombie Modes, Takeo, Nikolai, Dempsey, and Richtofen, appear as an Easter Egg in Call of the Dead.
Unfortunately while we did hear a bunch of chatter from the four of them we were busy trying to survive and did not hear enough.
So this morning I went looking for more information and found it in the attached video. The video really only deals with the Easter Egg for single player. It is supposed to be different for coop play. Technically this is a spoiler for the Easter Egg so do not watch it if you do not want to:
Oh yeah. The guy gets to Level 26 in single player. Level 26. Makes our high of Level 12 look pretty pitiful. I am going to try a round right now to see where I get to. The things I do for you guys...
...there, I'm back. It took me about twenty minutes.
And I got to Level 9 which is pretty good on my own. Fortunately the Tickle Trunk was only one door (lifeboat debris) away. Here is what I managed to do in my twenty minutes:
- Tickle trunked for: Matryoshka dolls, commando, scavenger, steyr aug, ballistic knife
- turned the power on
- spoke to Dempsey, Richtofen and Nikolai
- opened seven doors (approx)
- used a catapult to fire myself across the map
- bought Jugger-nog (first perk I ever purchased for this mode)
Important note, the Jugger-nog hallway turns into a death trap if you don't have enough cash to open the exit door. I didn't.
The original four Zombie hunters never assigned me the scavenger hunt and I could not find the fuse. I went back to the door at least twice. The door did not activate until the power was on but that could be coincidence. I am guessing that the fuse does not appear until you are assigned the Scavenger Hunt.
That's all for now. We will have to try the Easter Egg in coop mode sometime. Like tonight I mean.
