Microsoft has announced that they will be giving out a free game to everybody on Live as a gesture of good will due to the poor network performance experienced during the holiday period.

I'm wondering how wise Microsoft is. What is the best thing we can do to make up for our network being overloaded. In Microsofts wisedom they decided to offer a free download, over the same network that perfromed so well over the holidays.
