The magic of K'Nex – HoC style
Welcome to Herd of Cats' Craft Corner™, with your host Blackwalt.
So last night Rolly and I pulled out the bin of K'Nex. Rolly just wanted to play, and did so. Moving K'Nex from the bin to a dump truck and back. He continually handed parts to me with a "here." I then proceeded to use said piece as creatively as I could, usually pocketing it as soon as he turned his back.
But I, I had something more practical in mind.
And after the second period of the NHL All Star game, here is what I had:
Now... you are looking at it with a confused expression. More confused than your normal expression. Don't be alarmed. It will all begin to make sense soon. Here is another angle of the same brilliant creation.
But wait there's more!
It's purpose will astound you! It will amaze you! It will send you to the store for your own supply of K'Nex! Except for MoriceRevek who has his own massive supply in his basement and will begin his own design immediately upon viewing this creation in its final resting spot...
Which is here. Mounted on the wall next to my Xbox 360.
Yes! Its an Xbox 360 Accessory Storage Rack. Out of K'nex.
Who thinks up this stuff?
It holds three wireless controllers securely with easy access and has two small shelves for battery storage. Please note: the Xbox green DVD holder is new at Ikea. $5.99 and it holds 32 DVD cases. I have filled three of the four shelves. You can also see (just) below the Ikea rack a wall hook designed for my wireless headset. Everything handy on one wall. It's genius! Genius I tell you!
And the best part is K'Nex is modular! Need four controllers? Add a shelf! Only two? Remove a shelf! More battery storage? Add! Add! Add!
You too can build your own Xbox 360 Accessory rack. It's practical and stylish. This is Version 1.0, of course, and is subject to modification. Updates may or may not be posted.
That's all for now in this episode of Herd of Cats' Craft Corner™.
Stay tuned for next time where we show you how to build a handy stand to keep your troublesome Xbox 360 power brick from overheating. Made out of K'Nex! Awww, you guessed that part, didn't you?
Not available in all stores. Present performance is not indication of future performance. No animals were injured in the making of the storage rack (but it was close – sorry Half-pint). The reader agrees to indemnify, contribute to and hold harmless Herd of Cats, its subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, agents, and/or employees, against any liability, be it civil, criminal or quasi-criminal, resulting from any building and creation of K'Nex by the reader.

But you need a version for people with wired headsets. And do you sell kits with all the required pieces? How much? Do you ship international?
You obviously need to get some kind of life. And that's coming from me!
Which should give you some idea of just how pathetic the situation must be ...
