Resident Evil 6 Review-a-Palooza
It was inevitable
Since I received my copy today I decide it was probably a good idea to post a review-a-palooza for Resident Evil 6. I am a genius that way.
NZGamer – 9.5/10 – ...this isn't RE5, and it’s possible that where Capcom is steering the series is, in fact, in the right direction.
Gaming Union – 8/10 – Resident Evil 6 might not revitalize the franchise how Capcom hoped, but there is plenty here to show that they're moving in the right direction. ... There is so much potential here for Capcom to tap, they just need to make sure they focus their efforts to ensure that the future of Resident Evil is clear-cut
Planet Xbox 360 – 8/10 – It's a game not everyone will love, as Capcom abandons the smaller, fear-inducing moments of the series in favor of a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster approach. Despite its problems, though, it still works, and is a serviceable action experience with plenty of scary moments and opportunities to have fun with your friends. Just because the party's grown out of control doesn't mean you won't have a good time.
ZTGD – 9.2/10 – RE6 takes this even further by adding traditional controls and, of course, the ability to shoot, dodge and move all at the same time. This is an action game with horror elements, and one that is executed very well.
Gaming Age – B+ – ...once the ball starts rolling, you’ll find yourself in for one hell of a ride. A somewhat bumpy, uneven ride perhaps, but one that entertains far more than disappoints.
Official Xbox Magazine – 8/10 – Resident Evil 6 is solid, challenging, and at moments outright amazing, but razzle-dazzle Hollywood production never quite masks a subtle, intangible lack of focus and pacing that pervades its formidable spread of content. If you can experience its action-tastic, gore-stained highs with a friend, though, this horror-shooter opus presents an offer (and a value) that’s impossible to resist.
Worthplaying – 8/10... the rest of Resident Evil 6 is very strong and provides a very real idea that the series is evolving and capable of providing both a high level of atmosphere and engaging combat at the same time. There's a lot here that fans can be cautiously optimistic about...
Gaming Nexus – 8.9/10 – At the end of the day, Resident Evil 6 ends up being a stellar package. There is a lot to do with or without your friends. The smaller, multiple campaigns make it more prone to being replayed numerous times
IGN – 7.9/10 – When this game is at its height, it sets new standards for the series in every way.
Canadian Online Gamers – 77/100 – ...Resident Evil 6 packs an impressive amount of content and this alone warrants a close look, especially for fans of the franchise.
Gameinformer – 8.75/10 – Over the years, the tone of the Resident Evil series has morphed from a George Romero horror flick to Michael Bay summer blockbuster. That metamorphosis into insane action is front and center in Resident Evil 6, and bringing a buddy along for the chaos is great fun. The game’s minor flaws don’t hold back the decadent experience from being an unhinged, flaming rollercoaster ride.

I would like to point out that no one seemed to have an issue with Swag posting only bad reviews. Admittedly only two but he did include the universal statement "Because it sucks".
I did post the good reviews thread as a (sort of) rebuttal to his comment.
It is interesting to note that the reviews for Resident Evil 6 are all over the place, averaging out at 68% at Gameranking.com. That's for the Xbox 360 version, the PS3 version is scoring a whole ten points higher at 79% which is a pretty weird discrepancy.
It does appear (although not totally) that those reviewing it as a Resident Evil game, no longer survival horror, are giving it worse reviews than those who are reviewing it as a new game standing on its own merits.
I bought it because of the stellar co-op campaign that I enjoyed in Resident Evil 5 and I am looking forward to another co-op day with Resident Evil 6. I may not even play it until then.
And I did miss a couple of reviews:
Strategy Informer – 8/10 – Resident Evil 6 is the disfigured spawn of a generation that is best known for Call of Duty. We've got Resident Evil 4's atmosphere spliced into the body of Operation Racoon City's action. Moments of brilliance clash with sections of irritation.
Game Trailers – 8.8/10 – Resident Evil 5 is the most polarizing game in series history. While there's no denying it's one of the better action games released this generation, its steps away from the macabre has left fans wondering just where the franchise is heading.
that my first post wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Obviously if I actually wanted to give a negative review, I would have said more than 'because it sucks'.
And for the record I did post both a good (ign) and bad (gamespot) review of the game.
This game has had very polarizing reviews, and I think it's important to anyone on here thinking of buying it to get the right impression of the quality of the game.
Since Blackwalt stopped posting the ones that were below 77/100
Gamespot: 4.5/10 (as was posted before)
Joystiq: 2.5/5 - If every idea had come together without friction, and with the aid of Capcom's top-notch presentation, Resident Evil 6 would have been a tremendous action game. Instead, it's a fully-featured, sloppy, frequently frustrating attempt to do well by everyone. Everyone would do well to study its anatomy, to learn what happens to a series stuck somewhere between a new life and an old body.
Destructiod: 3/10 - Resident Evil 6 is poor by the standards of any game, not just the high ones set by its own legacy. This is unexceptional tripe that becomes insulting once the woeful missteps come into play. Resident Evil 6 is not just a step back for the series, it's a step back for commonplace, unassuming action-shooters.
Eurogamer: 6-10 - Resident Evil 6 may delight. But all the effort in the world won't make up for a lack of vision. This game is blind to imagination and focus. Capcom's uncertainty about the series' identity post-Mikami (and post-Uncharted) is hardcoded into its structure: four campaigns offering different, flawed expressions of that potential. And the inevitable price for this wavering is a lack of coherence. Resident Evil 6 is an unwieldy tribute to the series' past, an uneven expression of its present and an unwelcome indication of its future.
You're missing Gamespot...
I think you're biased
I agree with Aku!
