Episode: Difference between a loser and a Geek.
So after a volleyball game volleyball girl 19,20,21 and I were chatting and I offered to BBQ at my place naturally they all accepted.
WE went to Farm Boy on merivale picked up some steaks she asked me to go pick up some of the peppercorn brie from metro. So, I gave my key to VBG19 as I have known her for many years I went to metro.
Well while at metro I saw this:
And that is when I realized the difference between a loser and a geek:
I am not waiting in line at EB games but I am still a geek (an Über geek actually).
Why? I am actually picking up some food for some ladies that are coming over for a BBQ at 8pm as opposed to waiting in line until the midnight opening for what it's called? Call of Dummies or something?
As I am writing this the said ladies are changing into something more comfortable.

But one could argue that it's better to take one girl home, have a meaningful conversation with her, sex, and repeat that cycle.
There is nothing wrong with going to a midnight opening heck I even did once (kind of) read about it here: http://www.herdofcats.ca/node/2011
What I think is dumb is lining up a 8pm (or earlier) wasting 4-5+ hours of your time in November (though it was a abnormally warm day 19C!). Why, so you can get a head start before everyone else?
This day and age with the internet you will usually get in the mail the next day.
I've never lined up for a game, probably never will. Unless it is to bug Coxxorz.
Different girl each night though.
Though I do have my favourites.
Starts with a W, ends in an R.

LMFAO...
I was trying to think of word but couldn't
Well done!
Looks like swag got reveked (I think)
:(
But seriously, how many of those kids would be there if they had 3 women waiting for them at home (moms & sisters not included)?
Hell, it only took one to get me to stay home, and I'm married to her.
Instead of wasting all this time waiting in line to get an early start on a video game. Why not go and play some sport or some other social activity where you will actually *GASP* meet people!
I will admit there was a time in my life where I was like the aforementioned loser, extremely anti social and all I cared about or looked forward to was to play video games. One day, I don't really remember how it happened a switch flipped inside of me and everything changed. I learned the aspects of a social environment without a screen in front of me etc. and now here I am.
There is some underlying irony in this too.

Wait, I do, seeing as how I don't watch TV either it took me second to understand the joke.
but you do watch TV shows right?
At the moment the only two shows I waste my time with are Boardwalk Empire and Dexter (thankfully Dexter is somewhat redeeming itself after a terrible season 6).
Game of Thrones is the only other show I watch(ed), though the second season castrated the book imho. But I always have to remind myself and almost always "the screen is never as good as the pages".
A lot of people say I should watch this or that but couldn't be bothered.
The walking dead and breaking bad are on the list but I will get to them when I do.
Maybe one day..
I think that switch is called "Puberty".

Typing in a blog with other fellow geeks criticizing other geeks. Yup. That's what I call moving up in the world.
