The Rye Wars: a new entry!
And an unexpected one
Just a quick note that I am behind on the Rye Wars stories and Christmas added some more material. So this entry may be outdated. I will do my best to catch up.
A new entry by:
Mrs. Coxxorz!
I know, I was surprised too.
So slightly over a month ago a received an email from Mrs. Coxxorz with the subject "have an extra one." Now as you can imagine, I have no idea why she even has one Coxxorz let alone two and I see too much of the original to have any interest in her spare.
Then I read the full email and realized that she wasn't talking about an extra Coxxorz at all! Phew.
- "I have an extra bottle [of Crown Royal]"
Oh! An extra bottle of rye. Well that's totally different. Now I am interested and a little surprised to have an additional entry into the Rye Wars (for my affections) because frankly, Mrs. Cozzorz, I had no idea.
So I re-read the email to make sure I had all the details correct and that my nightmare of an extra Coxxorz could fade back into the far recesses of my mind.
- "I was wondering if you would like to buy a bottle of Crown Royal off me for..."
Wait? Buy it? Didn't anyone tell you the rules? You want me to buy it? Well, fine, here's my answer for you! The one you totally deserve!
- Yes, hell yes and damn yes. Although in truth my email only said "I'll always take crown royal." and "Thanks for thinking of me."
I mean, it's rye and cheaper than normal so yes, of course I will take it. Whether or not you understand the rules.
So yes, this still counts as an entry even though she claims last place. She is in the Rye Wars, just not in a good position.
For those of you who may be surprised that Mrs. Coxxorz entered the Rye Wars (for my affections) I only have one, somewhat obvious, response for you...
Have you met Coxxorz?

1) She doesn't read the site, and
2) I may have only mentioned the "competition" in passing.
Although I might have said something about my plans to break the rules, I had no intention of coercing her into doing so.
But yeah, making you buy your gift is kinda last place material.
You could have a bet with someone about getting someone to buy their Christmas gift from you. That is a wild bet, but I truly believe that the people who frequent this web site are capable of making such a bet. Perhaps senor Stormblade was involved.
So yeah, quite plausible for us.
