Microtransactions hit Call of Duty Black Ops II

As far as I am concerned Activision is learning the wrong lessons from EA.

Beginning today you can now purchase customizations, player calling cards and extra create-a-class slots in Call of Duty Black Ops II.

As well Nuketown 2025 is now available free for everyone and if you don't yet have Nuketown Zombies it is available stand alone for 400 MS points.

I don't really have a problem with this, as long as the microtransactions are for aesthetic and other non-advantageous items.

Also if you pretty much need to buy something, or have to grind for 60 hours to get it, then that's also bad.

A recent example is the "Free-to-Play" game Mechwarrior Online, where they sell high end mechs for 30$ each! Just for a stupid mech!

They already give access to some maps to people who pay more (for Special Editions). This lets them play for weeks or even months before release to the general public, effectively giving them an unfair advantage that the rest of us may never catch up to.

it was only a few days earlier for this? Not months.

If it's just a couple days before that's no big deal, anything more is though.
