HoC experiences Dead Island Riptide: Day 18

Nice parking Louise Take 3 (Take 1 and Take 2)

While driving to the Research Facility I decided it was easier to drive over the zombies at the entrance instead of getting out of the car and meleeing them. The third time I backed up it looked like I moved up away from the ground and I ended up looking down from an angle.

Blackwalt: "Did I just drive up a tree?"

Graybush and Coxxorz: "Yes, Yes you did."

Blackwalt:"How is that even possible?"

Needless to say Coxxorz got out to take a picture. Graybush also got out. I waited for Coxxorz to take his picture before following.

TO MY DEATH!

Yes, my punishment for parking illegally was death as soon as I dismounted the vehicle. Both of the technically blameless passengers received no punishment. Not so the driver.

Graybush and Coxxorz: "Did you just die?."

Blackwalt:"Yes, yes I did."

And this wasn't even the best part of reaching the Research Facility. It was a distant second.

Earlier in the day over coffee I had mentioned a tunnel full of mines to Coxxorz and to watch out for it later in the game.

This "tunnel" was directly inside the Research Facility gate.

Blackwalt:"Guys, guys, you need to run down the tunnel to the left as fast as possible."

Graybush and Coxxorz: "Okay."

Blackwalt: "Wait, what..."

I have never had them listen to me before but the two of them turned to the left and sprinted down the tunnel directly into the mine field.

Now the mines start beeping in warning before you set them off and it is possible to retreat once you hear them. If you are sprinting however...

The symphony of beeping mines is a moment I will treasure in my memory forever. The following massive explosion which sent Coxxorz and Graybush's bodies flying will also hold a coveted spot.

Graybush and Coxxorz: "There's a mine field down here."

Blackwalt (through massive laughter): "I can't believe you guys listened to me! Why would you start now?"

To be fair, I did try to heal them but only managed to revive Coxxorz. Graybush faded before I could get to him.

This, this gaming night is one reason Dead Island Riptide will remain a Herd of Cats favourite.

Although I may have to give it up because of how much I am dreading Coxxorz and Graybush's revenge. I expect it will be painful.

And hilarious, just like this was.
