HoC X-Com Enemy Unknown – Nine Days In

The HoC X-Com teams experiences true loss. The robot didn't make it

Engineering didn't have enough spare parts to rebuild Thunder-1. The brave SHIV provided exemplary service over three missions with five alien kills. He took the front line and drew fire to take the heat of his team mates. Colonel Q 'Cargo' Bert had this to say, "We'll miss that buckets of bolts. He was a true soldier and an important member of our team." He contiued on in a lower voice, "and a perfect replacement for the Colonel Blade guy as he (Thunder-1) could actually hit something."

When asked about Corporal S. Wag also KIA during 'Operation Empty Apollo' he responded, "who?"

Engineering was concerned for the HoC X-Com team having to field Colonel Blade again and immediately put their heads together and provided a quick alternative.

An upgraded version of Thunder-1:

Welcome Goliath-1. A alloy reinforced SHIV soon to be upgraded with a plasma cannon.

Colonel Bert responded to engineering with a heart felt thanks and a loud, "ooh shiney!"

Oh right.

Corporal S. Wag:

Will be missed, served well, nice guy, liked by team mates, condolences to his parents, yadda, yadda. Oh, and 4 missions with 6 alien kills so thanks for that.

Seriously though, as mission commander I don't really want to belittle how Cpl. Wag died. It was hilarious. No really. A Muton Berserker worked his way through our team's fire, stopped at Cpl. Wag's position and then pulverized him into the ground like so much road kill. Except that usually you can identify the species of road kill afterward. Pulverized. Into the ground. See? Hilarious. I just can't stop laughing. Sigh... I wish I had recorded it.
