HoC Random Benchy of the Day - 09012018
Our summer project arrived last Thursday. It was slightly back ordered.
However, a determined 12 year old made sure that our 3D printer kit was assembled as soon as possible. We expected more issues calibrating but we were getting acceptable results quickly. This was our second attempt at our second print. Human error ended the first attempt early...
Print time was approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Rainbow Six Siege had an awesome zombie survival mode
And we missed it!
Zombie-ish technically and it lasted for one month only and disappeared six months ago.
I only mention it as rumours are swirling that it may come back. Hopefully permanently.
- Operation Chimera, which launched earlier this week, is the start of the new season for Rainbow Six: Siege. The biggest addition is Outbreak, a three player co-op game mode where operators fight against an army of grotesque infected enemies. It is a mode that focuses first and foremost on teamwork. This looks like the closest we will see to Extinction for a while so I hope it comes back.

I now have Vermintide II and I have pre-ordered Strange Brigade, both of which suit our general (ahem) ‘playing’ style, and of course there are oldies but goodies.
Anyway, just throwing it out there.

I think we all knew this was coming...
First mentioned on Herd of Cats back in July 2016 by Aku, No Man's Sky has always been a game that interested me.
The Xbox One version with the NEXT patch is providing a improved experience to Xbox players vs the original PS4 release two years ago. Particularly the inclusion of multiplayer. Yes, No Man's Sky is now four player coop. Magic words for HoC.
Technically, I have yet to click on the Buy button but it is only a matter of time.

How do they make No Man's Sky look so appealing?

My biggest issue is the $69.99 price for a two year old PS4 game. Even with the patches I am thinking this should be launching at a lower price point. The PS4 version, new, is $29.99 at Amazon right now ($14.99 CAD used at EBGames). That $40 price differential is a little much to take. And let's remember that it is No Man's Sky.
The four player base building looks good but I was wowed by the four player star fighter formation flying. Which is what the other three HoC members would be doing. I would be busy trying not to crash into things. Like the planet!
