If it's just for a LAN party, we have trial cards floating around. Although the 2-month cards have been replaced with the somewhat less generous 48-hour cards.

A 12-month card will run you from $49-$60, but a card with Live Vision (web cam) is $79-$90 (an additional $50 value).

The real kicker is when you start getting into "Microsoft Points".
