It's all Coxxorz's fault - Bargain Corner shopping take 2
Honest! He made me buy them!
You would think that after my previous experience earlier this same week that I would be hesitant to even get in a car with Coxxorz. But he tricked me. Honest! It started as a Tim Hortons run.
And then we ended up at Future Shop (twice) and Best Buy (only once). I won't mention the three other stops. Oh, and Tim Hortons as that wasn't a complete lie.
It started better than I thought. No I lie, that was just for continuity...
It started with a Future Shop sale. Coxxorz noted that the Halo 3 Sling Bag (XBOX 360) was on sale for $14.99. Combine this with Best Buy's price of $59.99 and Best Buy's price matching policy ("we will match that price and beat it by giving you an additional 10% of the difference") we had potential for a good deal. In fact, a high quality recommended Xbox 360 carrying case for a grand total of $10.73. And yes I am still using my $50 gift card from this earlier deal. My first Xbox HD DVD drive as a matter of fact.
Anyhow after Best Buy we moved on Future Shop (back to Future shop technically as we stopped in there to confirm price and stock on the Halo 3 bag) to check for Xbox 360 HD-DVD add on drives. Sadly they had two. One for each of us. *sob*
And Future Shop has the same price matching policy as Best Buy. And Wal-Mart is selling off the drives for $25. And Coxxorz had a receipt from his earlier (the same day) purchase of one of the Wal-Mart HD-DVD drives. And if you are keeping track and just realized that Coxxorz has three of these drives, you would be wrong. He has four. That I know of. I think he is making a bunker out of the boxes in his basement to grow...
Nevermind. I don't want to know. Neither do you. Let's keep plausible deniability shall we.
SO... final price of $19.06 for an extra Xbox HD DVD drive (for me anyway). I figure I can keep it as a spare or connect it to my PC. The possibilities are endless. And an originally priced $179.99 unit for $19.06? It's hard to refuse. I blame Future Shop for having two in stock. As well as Coxxorz of course.

Wal Mart is selling them for $19.93 (or 19.88, depending on your location), not $25. But you better call now, they're going fast. Too late, they're gone. Told you so.
As for my "four drives", I actually just threw the drives away and kept the universal media remotes to use around the house. The King Kong discs made for a nice set of matching coasters, but scratched too easily.
..
... aim for my house.
