XBox 360 Core to Blackwalt - "Screw you... again!"
This time it's MoriceRevek's fault
So the latest step in Revek's campaign to make sure I never loan him anything again my Xbox 360 Core system, recently returned from a weekend visit with Revek and his cousin, has stopped reading DVD and game disks. And it doesn't read them in a very loud manner.
The latest twist (see picture) happened in the most recent attempt to convince it to play GRID, apparently it thinks its a Wii. While I am not sure what Legen sie diese Disk zum Abspielen in eine Xbox 360 Konsole ein means I am fairly sure its similar to "You're screwed, send us (Microsoft) even more money." And yes, I am probably going to. Sometimes I hate myself. And sometimes I hate MoriceRevek.
The email communication about this issue between Revek, Coxxorz and I has gotten to four pages and involved DVD cleaning, Xbox 360 disassembly, the encryption key used to tie DVD drives to specific Xbox's and the fact the Grendel doesn't get to play if he shows up. Too bad so sad. And this gem from Revek (spelling intact), "Although I did through it at [my nephew] from teh first floor to the top of the stairs, and he missed so it went tumbling down all 3 floors.. "
$140 if I go through MS. Can probably do it for just over $100 if I buy a replacement drive and have a local repair guy fix it. $230-279 if I buy a replacement Xbox 360 Core.
I only need the console and fortunately for all concerned, this is NOT my primary Xbox 360, which yes, is the only reason MoriceRevek is still alive.
Anyway, It figures. Also, the local repair guy would normally sell me the replacement DVD drive as well but he has repaired so many Xbox 360's recently that he is out of stock.
