Lan Aftermath: We all suck.

Update: As was mentioned to me this was very much a short notice LAN. All things considered it was pretty impressive to have one of our best turnouts ever on two days notice.

Woo-hoo! Stormblade just left!

For a mid-week Lan party everything went pretty well. Although with Stormblade outnumbered six-to-one you think we could have got him this time. It was unfair of him to bring his son to the party. No one was quite willing to finish him of with his son right there. Except Akufadumamai, of course, but I couldn't cover the cost and passing the hat around got me nothing. In fact I think I lost money.

No deaths as mentioned, seven (7!) HoC clan members attended (Blackwalt, Stormblade, MoriceRevek, Akufadumamai, Q-Bert, Hardwood, and Coxxorz), GRAW2 was played until the first exodus, only 60 minutes was wasted on setup (better than average), team killing was kept to a minimum (for us), and lots of munchies, pop, and alcohol were consumed.

Coxxorz, Stormblade, and I even got in some Battlefield: Bad Company with A Troll after the main group left.

We discovered that we could shove seven xbox 360 into Guba's basement and still have room to move around. Although it was getting pretty toasty. We gave up on the air conditioning and switched to opening the windows after Moricerevek's gastrointestinal tract really got going.

The new GRAW2 co-op maps were pretty good. They were challenging, fun , and with us playing them, completely chaotic. We played true to our strategy.

I think with the proven success of this wednesday night LAN it will probably be possible to continue the trend and make the occasionally Sega Night a physical LAN. An 8:00 - 12:00 window works pretty well if we setup some procedures in advance (organize downloads, practice our setups (see photo), sit at your assigned spot and shut up, someone has to sit beside MoriceRevek). This Mid-Week LAN certainly went better than expected, or I should say, it could have been worse.
