But they said that since I am associated with you guys they will not let me in. I then tried Mexico, but they threatened to send a Mexican hit squad after me.

Perhaps I should celebrate Guy Fawkes day on November 11 in real fashion if the Republicans win!

You never know who's reading the site. Although I can't picture the CIA having any idea who Guy Fawkes was. I'm surprised you know!

that I know who Guy Fawkes was? We do have some schools in the States and some of is even got past the 3rd grade. Shucks, I know a guy who has a cousin who made it all the way to the 6th grade by the time he was 18.

The CIA is not the one to worry about for these types of things, it is the NSA. They make the CIA look nice.

and I have four kids in the American school system. The fact is though that they get very little grounding in anything that didn't either happen in the US or have Americans involved in it. Even if they do, the events have to be major enough to warrant attention.

as to how good of an education your kids get. Besides if it didn't happen in the U.S. or if the U.S. was not somehow involved, who cares? :) It is a rather large and populated place you know. Canada is large but not nearly the population the U.S. has.

Actually what you are saying was true up until a few years ago. I know my son was in 7th or 8th grade and had some exposure to European History. He is now in the 11th grade and taking an AP European History class. Ten years ago he probably would not have had anything besides US history until college.

Yes I know who the Fenians are. They were part of the original feed ground for the IRA. It is also a bar here in the LA area.
