Wii Price Going Up????
Well earlier in the month I thought there is a price cut on the horizon for the PS3 and Xbox 360. But apparently Nintendo is becoming a little greedy with raising their price of the Wii in the UK??
Interesting to see how that will impact everything.

But I don't see why they would do that, the Wii is already overpriced (and Nintendo knows it).
But they've been purposely limiting production since it came out. The artificial demand seems to be working though, because it's still in short supply to this day.
And people wonder why I want to boycott $10 map packs.
But that didn't last too long since you can only limit the supply so much, if nobody buys it.
And I believe that supply problems (for the US anyway) have recently been resolved.
Did you see the big launch party in the desert? It was an embarrassment.
You give MS too much credit to think they'd come up with an idea like limiting supply. Sure they didn't have competition from PS3 til months later, but I think their own manufacturing issues were the reason for the early shortage.

In Microsoft's case, the Xbox 360 can be produced only gradually, but all the demand is there at once. Plentiful supply would be possible only if Microsoft made millions of consoles in advance and stored them without releasing them, or if it built vast production lines that only ran for a few weeks—both economically unwise strategies. It makes more sense to ship the consoles as they are made—and that means gradually. The steady supply can't match peak December demand.
That's sounds exactly like "purposely limiting."
