I acompanied a friend from the office to Future Shop on a completly unrelated purchase (they had 4 GB USB keys for $30 CDN), and he bought a copy of HALO 3 Collectores edition. I advised him thay he should check the CD inside due to the problems reported. As soon as we got in the car, he removed the binding stickers, and opened the package. The complementary video DVD was firmly attached to its mini spindle, and showed no signs of damage. Flip the box around, open it, and yes, the DVD has fallen off its spindle. Fortunatly, it did not go through the postal system, so the DVD did not move, flip or get tossed around nearly as much, and was devoid of scratches.
Arrive at the office, and we notice on the top of the box, in nice small letters:
"Made in China"
I wonder if Microsoft will issue a massive recall?

I too am glad I got the regular edition. Free scratches? I'd rather get the free shirt from Best Buy (much improved over the old "I PWN" one, BTW). Imagine the poor bastards who lined up in the middle of the night to get something they already paid for... and it was pre-damaged...

I just picked up the regular edition at FS, and they are giving away a free copy of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer with every purchase of any edition of Halo 3.
