EVE-Online week #2: It's been about a week now.
I'm still married, and my girls recognize me still; so EVE's impact hasn't been that bad so far. Sunday morning, and the servers are in maintenance, so I have nothing else to do on Father's Day morning than write a blog entry :-(
I've lost 2 ships in PvE combat, but I have about 4 more in the hangars. My main problem right now is that I don't have enough money to purchase insurance for my biggest ship. That stunts my combat ability somewhat.
So, I have been focussing on the Market.
It's possible to do a good amount of money by finding large discrepancies between selling price and buying price in some items. For example: at a certain station, the selling price of widgets is 7000ISK, while the buying price for the same widget is 480ISK. I can make money from that by putting in a purchase order for a bunch of widget at 500ISK, wait until someone sells me the stuff because I am the highest buying price, then turn around and put a sell order at 6800ISK. If you are patient, you will eventually sell your batch at that price. The advantage to this is that these transactions can occur even if you are offline. You just have to make sure you do this in a station that is very popular, or else the transaction volume won't be large enough to fill in your orders in a reasonable time.
Ah, the server is back online.

I like the guys falling off of it.
We should prepare the intervention now before it is too late for Q-Bert.
That's what I did on Sunday morning when I found out the server was offline for 1 hour.
threw a tantrum and tried to shove the remote up your butt?
