Analyst: Nintendo 'Could Rival Apple' As Stocks Surge

By Swag - Posted on 03 October 2007

This site is way too Xbox biased, so I decided to post this article about Nintendo. Of course, bashing Xbox and Apple at the same time will probably get me in a lot of trouble here (although if you read the article, Apple is actually complimented).

From the article: "'We believe Nintendo's talent in creating new markets, evident from the launch of the DS and Wii, could bring it close to the level of Apple, whose high valuations are due in large part to its innovative business model.'”

Also: "Shares closed up 2.7 percent yesterday, at ¥64,800 ($556.93) – an all-time high for Nintendo."

At least Nintendo is actually making a profit on their console.

So why exactly does Microsoft and Sony sell consoles when they loose 100-200 dollars per sale? I recall reading an article (I would have to dig deep to get the reference) saying that every since Microsoft's launch into the console wars way back in 2001 the entire Xbox section has yet to break even, they are still deep in the shit whole when it comes to financial lose. Oh well silly ass americans eat then up, so it must be good right?
